Chartering a Yacht in Croatia
Croatia has an amazing 5,835km of coastline, including the Dalmatian Coast in the south and the Istria region in the north. There are over 1,185 islands in the Adriatic, but only about 50 are populated. The most famous islands are Hvar, Korcula, Brac and Vis on the Dalmatian coast. Dubrovnik and Split are also popular destinations.
Hvar Island
The island of Hvar is the queen of the Dalmatian islands. This is an island with a rich cultural heritage and architecture, hosting many beautiful resorts and picturesque villages in peaceful, idyllic settings. The island is also full of interesting bays and small towns and villages both on its Southern and Northern side.
Korcula Island
Korcula Town is the birthplace of the Italian explorer Marco Polo. A smaller version of Dubrovnik with its fortified walls, narrow shaded streets and summer festivals, it has long been a favourite of the yachting community. Korcula island has many unspoiled coves and beaches.
The Island of Vis (Blue Grotto)
If you are looking for a destination with spectacular scenery with amazing beaches, beautiful calm bays and superb diving Vis is the place to visit. A visit to Vis would not be complete without a trip to Bisevo, a tiny little island off the coast of Vis. Bisevo is world renowned for its stunning and unique natural marvel, the Blue Grotto.
Brac Island
The town of Bol is a hugely sought after holiday location with many people because of the legendary Golden Horn beach (Zlatni Rat). The main resorts in Brac are Milna, Supetar, Sutivan, Sumartin and Bol. Brac is the largest island in Dalmatia and is the closest island to Split which makes this a wonderful place to start your sailing holiday.
Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik has been described as "the pearl of the Adriatic" and is a beautiful city with a remarkable Old Town area, which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. The Old Town has countless sights including the historic city walls which you can walk along and imagine yourself in your own Game of Thrones!
Split
Split is the second largest city in Croatia, with a population of just over 200,000 people. Split is the largest city on the Adriatic coast. With a powerful and robust history and the town created around a palace built by Roman emperor Diocletian - this dynamic city is well worth a visit.

YACHT CHARTER IN CROATIA
CROATIA - BAREBOAT CHARTER LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
As the Australian licensing system is State and not Federal, then Croatia does not have an automatic reciprocal agreement with Australia for boat licences. Each State in Australia has different licence categories.
When you bareboat charter, our boat owners will need to see a scanned copy of your licence and also be directed to the Licensing Body's website, where it clearly states that size and type of vessel that you specifically are licenced to drive. If your licence states that you may only drive vessels up to 12m in length (as per some Western Australian licences), then generally our boat owners will only let you charter their yacht if their yacht is under the 12m length. Please keep this in mind when selecting the yachts as all yachts are hired out at the owner's discretion and there is no automatic licence agreement between Australian (State licensing) and Croatia (federal boat licensing).
